Program Overview

One of five creative units of the College of Arts + Architecture, the Department of Theatre at UNC Charlotte provides the ultimate training ground for the next generation of professional artists, designers, technicians, educators, and community leaders.

The minor in theatre at UNC Charlotte allows students to develop their knowledge in contemporary theatre practice and theory while majoring in another subject. Students have the freedom to explore a range of theatre courses according to their interests while building essential skills: leadership, collaboration, communication, adaptability, and creativity. Nurture your passion for theatre with our Minor in Theatre!

Minor in Theatre at a Glance

All courses and productions in the Department of Theatre are open to theatre minors. The UNC Charlotte Department of Theatre does not require an audition for acceptance. Coursework in the Department of Theatre is available to all students enrolled at the University, as are the auditions for our productions. UNC Charlotte is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre.
