Theatre, B.A.

Program Overview

The Department of Theatre inspires students to expand their vision of the world and themselves, preparing them for leadership as practitioners, educators, and artists. The Department of Theatre offers a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, with concentrations in one of the following areas: Performance; Design/Tech; Directing, Dramaturgy and Dramatic Writing; Applied Theatre; Theatre Studies; and Theatre Education. The B.A. degree allows the flexibility to pursue a double major. A Minor in Theatre and a Certificate in Musical Theatre are also offered.

This concentration is designed for students who wish for a broader Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre. The pathway provides a flexible model that highlights the essential skills that students and potential employers value in theatre practitioners: collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.

“My favorite thing about the Department of Theatre is how kind and connected everyone is. I love how you’re always running into someone you know around campus or between classes and can stop to have a conversation about anything. It really feels like a close-knit community.”
