Mechanical Engineering Technology, B.S.E.T.

Program Overview

Mechanical Engineering Technology is essential to many industries, such as manufacturing and energy. Technology application in testing, manufacture, maintenance and operation of highly specialized machinery is a key element of industry success.

The B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology provides you with industry relevant skills, including computer-aided design, manufacturing processes, fluid power systems, stress analysis and more. Through hands-on application of mechanics and technology, you adopt skills in the areas of mechanisms, energy systems, manufacturing and instrumentation.

In the capstone senior design project, you’ll apply theory to practicum in actual engineering challenges that involve machining, stress analysis, thermal fluids and other fundamentals. As a graduate from this program, you’re equipped to pursue careers that range from automotive design and renewable power systems to advanced manufacturing and computer-aided design, and more.

As an ABET accredited program, this course of study provides students assurance that it meets the quality standards of the profession.
