Why get an MBA Plus post-master's certificate at UNC Charlotte?

The Difference is Charlotte

Charlotte’s business environment moves fast — and the executives leading here know that standing still isn’t an option. The Belk College of Business, AACSB-accredited for more than 30 years, puts you in the room with faculty at the front edge of business research and practice, in a city where what you learn applies immediately.

Graduate-level depth, executive-level relevance

MBA PLUS gives you access to the same concentration coursework available to current JL Price MBA students — in analytics, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing and more — focused on the contemporary skills and tools that were still emerging when you earned your MBA.

On your terms

Evening classes at the Dubois Center are designed for professionals with careers to manage. Take courses one at a time, build a concentration in a specific functional area, or pursue a broader program across multiple disciplines. The structure bends to your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for the MBA PLUS certificate?

The MBA PLUS certificate is open to graduates of AACSB-accredited MBA programs who want to broaden or update their business education. If you earned your MBA from UNC Charlotte, you do not need to submit an additional transcript.

Why pursue additional coursework after an MBA?

Business practices, tools and competitive conditions evolve continuously. The MBA PLUS certificate gives you access to graduate-level coursework in high-demand areas — including analytics, finance, entrepreneurship and marketing — so your skills stay current with where business is going, not just where it’s been.

Do I have to focus on one concentration area?

Most students use their 12 credit hours to build depth in a specific concentration area, but a broader program drawing from multiple areas is also an option.

Can I repeat a course I already took in my MBA program?

Yes — up to one previously-completed course may be repeated and counted toward the certificate. Additional repeated courses beyond the first do not count toward the 12-credit-hour requirement.

Is the GMAT or GRE required?

No. GMAT and/or GRE scores are not required for admission to the MBA PLUS certificate.

Where are classes held?

Courses are offered in-person in the evenings at the Dubois Center in Uptown Charlotte.
