Program Overview

When you study to receive a B.S. in Biology at UNC Charlotte’s Biological Sciences Department, you have opportunities for hands-on experiential training with state-of-the-art equipment platforms in dedicated research facilities to incorporate with an in-depth study of the science of biology with heavy focus on lab work, research and technical studies. Undergraduate majors thrive in small class sizes, with dedicated advisors, course-based and faculty-driven research projects and internships, all within a collaborative community.

Biology, B.S. at a Glance

The B.S. in Biology is recommended for students planning a career in biology and for those planning to attend graduate school for a Master’s or Ph.D. degree. B.S. students have the option of designing their course of study to emphasize an area they are interested in by selecting specific additional biology courses. Planning should be done in consultation with an academic advisor.
