Program Overview

As a discipline, art history encourages appreciation of works of art and instills a vivid awareness of the social and historical context in which these works were produced. The study of art history builds sharp analytical skills and broad cultural literacy, enhancing a wide range of degrees.

Minor in Art History at a Glance

The Minor in Art History is open to any major except Art History. It requires a cumulative 2.0 GPA for admission and grades of C or above in 18 credits of Art History coursework. Students must take Art History Survey 1 (ARTH 1211), Art History Survey 2 (ARTH 1212); and any four (4) more ARTH classes.
