Charlotte’s economy is not just expanding - it is outperforming nearly every major metropolitan area in the nation. According to newly released U.S. Department of Labor data, the region added 37,600 jobs in 2025, the second-highest total nationwide. In a year when hiring slowed across much of the country, Charlotte created more jobs than most states and outpaced peer metros across the Southeast and Sun Belt.
The Belk College of Business has strong ties to the Charlotte business community. We have a formal recruiting structure that provides numerous opportunities for you to engage with recruiters and hiring managers, and you can also expand your knowledge base by attending college and university professional development sessions. We typically have 20+ firms and companies participate in the recruitment process each fall!
We provide specific guidance on how to successfully prepare you for the CPA exam throughout your time in the program, and you may also participate in a CPA review for additional preparation. The MACC program has a strong working relationship with Becker CPA Review, who offers courses to prepare students for the CPA exam.
