Program Overview

The Minor in Software Development provides students with the knowledge and skills in software development using programming languages. Students gain hands-on knowledge of software development processes.

The Department of Computer Science is the largest department in UNC Charlotte’s College of Computing and Informatics, with close to 40 full-time faculty members. Faculty expertise encompasses areas of traditional computer science as well as cutting edge efforts in visualization/visual analytics, robotics, networking, video and image processing, cloud and high-performance computing, cognitive computing, recommender systems, and data mining.

The breadth of Computer Science is revealed in both its curriculum and research. With a supportive culture and dedicated faculty, UNC Charlotte’s College of Computing and Informatics prepares students interested in computer science to lead in the fast-evolving world of computing.

Software Development, Minor at a Glance

Students enrolled in a Computer Science major with a concentration other than Bioinformatics are not eligible to declare this minor.
