Program Overview

Our M.S. in Real Estate (MSRE) program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to analyze, evaluate and execute complex real estate investment and development transactions in one of the fastest-growing areas in the country.

Students are expected to complete a capstone course and international study tour in the summer following the first academic year in the program. All courses required to complete the curriculum are offered in the evening at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City in Uptown Charlotte.

  • Options for dual degrees with the Charlotte MBA
  • Full- or part-time flexibility
  • Curriculum counts towards CCIM, CPM, broker license
  • Experiential learning including the Fioretti Student Managed Real Estate Investment Fund, study abroad, competitions and recurring seminar series

Curriculum

The M.S. in Real Estate curriculum requires 32 hours of coursework. Here’s how that breaks down:

  • 24.5 hours of required core coursework
  • 7.5 hours of elective courses
  • Completion of undergraduate prerequisites, including Fundamentals of Financial Accounting and Financial Management (or their equivalents) may be required after admission to the MSRE program

Program Overview

The M.S. in Real Estate (MSRE) program equips you with the essential skills to pursue careers such as development associate, underwriter, broker, asset and property manager, acquisition specialist and investment/financial analyst. The program features the Fioretti Real Estate Investment Fund, providing hands-on experience in real estate investment and management. Our graduates have secured positions at leading Charlotte real estate firms, including Childress Klein, Crescent Communities, Grubb Properties, CB Richard Ellis, Wells Fargo, Lincoln Harris, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and many others.
