Psychology, B.S.

Program Overview

Relevant to all aspects of the human experience, psychology is the scientific study of human thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Students pursuing a B.S. in Psychology will learn about psychological theories, perspectives, and research across different subfields within Psychology. Additionally, students will develop skills that will lead to success outside of the classroom, including how to read and think critically, how to communicate scientific findings effectively, how to evaluate research articles, and how to use data to make decisions. The B.S. in Psychology prepares graduates for careers and/or graduate study in the areas of business, healthcare, medicine, counseling, criminal justice, education, and law.

Psychology, B.S. at a Glance

To fulfill the requirements for the B.S. in Psychology, students are required to complete 49 credit hours, 7 of which are natural science courses. All students will take a core series of courses related to research methods in psychology. For the final capstone requirement, students have the option of taking a seminar course, capstone course, or completing a 2-semester honors thesis project. The program features research opportunities, service-learning courses, capstone courses, and internships.
