Program Overview

Whether you are an experienced practitioner, new hire, or career changer, the Procurement and Supply Management Certificate Program helps you formally grasp a collection of pertinent Procurement & Supply Management concepts to sharpen your skills for career advancement.

This program is offered as a four-week online course. After successful completion of the 21-hour program and a final exam, graduates are eligible for a PSM Professional Certificate offered exclusively in the region by UNC Charlotte in partnership with the Institute for Supply Management Carolinas-Virginia.

The courses are designed and delivered by Institute for Supply Management approved instructors and practitioners and are part of a national initiative to provide a standardized curriculum for industry peers at all levels.

Procurement & Supply Management (PSM) is the art of finding, negotiating, and solidifying the purchase of goods and/or services for an organization while figuring out when and how to transport products or deploy labor to exactly where an organization needs it to be at the right time. Always taught by practitioners, this program covers terms, techniques, and templates for Specifications Gathering, Project Scoping, Bid Package Creation, Bid Reply Analysis, Supplier Selection, Negotiations, Contracting, Logistics, Risk Management and more.
