Touch a Child’s Life Through Play Therapy

The Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy prepares you to work with children who are 10 years and younger in a developmentally responsive way in both community and school settings. The program is available for professionals who have completed a master’s degree in counseling, social work or psychology and want additional training in play therapy. In addition, students currently enrolled in the master’s or doctoral program in the School of Social Work or in a counseling program may take the coursework required for the graduate certificate.

The graduate program in Play Therapy is an Approved Provider with the Association for Play Therapy, and the play therapy graduate coursework aligns with the Association for Play Therapy’s (APT) instructional requirements towards the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. Upon completing this graduate certificate program, you will be a specially trained, developmentally competent, highly effective mental health professional who can deepen their ability to make an meaningful impact on children’s mental health and well-being.
