Are you an associate degree or diploma-prepared RN wanting to earn your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree, but not sure how to fit your studies into your busy schedule?
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s online RN-to-BSN program can be completed in just one calendar year. Other online nursing programs can take as long as 16 to 24 months or more. Our intensive 12-month program is designed for working RNs. Our program can be taken at a slower pace if approved by the School of Nursing.
Our online RN-to-BSN program is offered fully online, with no visits to campus required. We designed class meeting times and formats to be flexible to allow working professionals to earn their B.S.N. while juggling other commitments. In just one year, you can hold the B.S.N. degree.

Step 2: Pre-Admission Transcript Review After speaking with an Enrollment Specialist, you will need to share your unofficial transcripts for preliminary review. The program coordinator will then reach out to discuss your eligibility to apply to the program and share an unofficial transcript review with you.
Step 3: Apply for admission to UNC Charlotte We then recommend that you complete our university application.
New Student to UNC Charlotte
Students with associate degrees are considered transfer students. Apply as a transfer student to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Choose term: Fall or Spring
Choose “Nursing: B.S.N. Completion Program (RN Licensure Required)” for your program.
Complete the application and attach your unofficial transcript review.
Provide all official post-secondary transcripts.
Application fee must be paid for your application to be processed.
Returning Student to UNC Charlotte
Students who have not been enrolled for 12 consecutive months after the semester last attended at UNC Charlotte will need to apply for readmission to the University. Apply as a returning student to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Choose term: Fall or Spring
Choose “Nursing: B.S.N. Completion Program (RN Licensure Required)” for your program.
Complete the application.
Application fee must be paid for your application to be processed.
Admissions Decisions
Students who receive an admissions or readmission decision regarding admittance or denial to the university will be notified by Admissions or the Registrar directly.
If admitted to the university, you will receive additional communication from the Program Coordinator about your next steps to gain acceptance to the RN-to-BSN program.
