Learn about medical device sales through UNC Charlotte’s partnership with the Medical Sales Institute (MSI). In this 10-week program, you’ll gain hands-on medical training, sales knowledge, and opportunities to engage with professionals in the medical device industry.
You’ll receive targeted instruction in medical concepts, hands-on product and surgical training, and specialized sales education — backed by MSI’s experience working with employers in the medical device industry.

Build a foundation in anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic imaging. You’ll gain confidence reading X-rays, understanding surgical procedures, and communicating effectively with healthcare professionals in and out of the operating room.
Develop a clear understanding of the sales process in the medical device industry. Learn to craft 30-, 60-, and 90-day business plans, manage territories, profile surgeons, and deliver high-value solutions that improve patient care.
Students connect directly with instructors, executives, and guest speakers from leading medical device companies. Graduates gain access to MSI’s hiring platform, connecting them to more than 2,100 hiring managers across the country.

An intensive, full-time experience combining in-person classroom instruction, hands-on surgical labs, and advanced sales training. Students develop deep knowledge of all orthopedic specialties and market dynamics while preparing for their first sales role.
A flexible, hybrid program combining online coursework, virtual reality training, and one week of in-person surgical instruction in Atlanta. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of medical device specialties through a blend of live instruction and virtual engagement.

A $500 deposit secures your spot in the program. Full tuition payment is due 30 days before the start date.
Students learn about anatomy, biomechanics, pathology, surgical procedures, diagnostic imaging, operating room protocol, sales call planning, surgeon profiling, and territory development — plus interview preparation and business plan development.
