The B.S.M.E. with a concentration in biomedical engineering provides you with a specialized area of study at the intersection of biology and engineering. The full program guides you through mechanical engineering topics, then adds a design course, a biology course, statistics and at least four technical electives, including areas such as biomaterials, microfluidics, orthopedic biomechanics, bioelectronic medicine, regenerative neural engineering and more.
By completing the requirements described in this program, you’ll receive a special designation on your transcript showing successful completion of the concentration. You’ll be equipped to work in fields that help improve human health, advance healthcare treatment and optimize medical equipment.
