Latin American Studies, Minor

Program Overview

Latin American Studies is dedicated to the study of the history, societies, and cultures of Latin America, Latino/a/x populations in the United States, and the Hispanic and Francophone Caribbean. The Latin American Studies minor connects students to the humanities, social sciences, and law, non-profit organizations, and international business, which is an important qualification to work with the growing Hispanic population. Latin American Studies is an interdisciplinary program which involves a variety of fields, including Africana studies, anthropology, Spanish, French and Portuguese language, English literature and culture, history, philosophy, and political science.

Latin American Studies, Minor at a Glance

The Latin American Studies minor requires 18 credit hours. Among the credit hours required for the minor, not more than 6 credit hours may be double-counted with another major or minor.
