The B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Gerontology Concentration at UNC Charlotte provides an in-depth exploration of aging through a multidisciplinary lens. The program covers various aspects of gerontology, including biological, psychological, social, and cultural perspectives on aging. Students engage in coursework that emphasizes both theoretical and practical knowledge, preparing them for a range of roles in aging services and advocacy. In addition to classroom learning, the program offers opportunities for experiential learning through internships and community engagement. Graduates learn that we are all aging every day and older adults are in every sector of society. All career fields benefit from the knowledge that our graduates gain.
