Global Studies, Minor

Program Overview

The Minor in Global Studies is designed to enable students to understand and analyze the global system in the context of a rapidly changing and increasingly interdependent world. It brings together perspectives from the social and the humanities to study political, economic, cultural and geographic issues from around the world. The degree encourages students to concentrate on critical issues of a global nature – peace and conflict, development and sustainability, and genocide and human rights.

Global Studies, Minor at a Glance

A Minor in Global Studies requires completion of 18 credit hours (plus 6 to 8 hours of foreign language courses at the 2000-level). All students pursuing the minor must have their curriculum approved by an advisor. All program-level Admissions and Progression Requirements are in addition to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Admission Requirements.
