Program Overview

The M.S. in Financial Engineering and Fintech and the JL Price MBA dual degree program at the Belk College of Business equips students with advanced skills in both quantitative finance and business leadership. This 54-credit hour program, a collaboration between the Belk College of Business and the Klein College of Science, prepares graduates for high-demand roles in financial institutions, investment banks and beyond. Students benefit from shared coursework, gaining a comprehensive education that bridges finance and business administration.

PLEASE NOTE: UNC Charlotte’s M.S. in Mathematical Finance (MAFI) program has evolved into the M.S. in Financial Engineering and Fintech (effective summer 2026) to better reflect the program’s curriculum, industry alignment and career pathways.

Same elite quantitative finance program — now with a name that reflects how finance is practiced today.
