Environmental Studies, Secondary Teaching Option, B.A.

Program Overview

Do you have a love for the environment? Do you wonder how the world works? Are you interested in the impact humans are having on the planet, and want to teach earth science to high school students? If so, a major in Environmental Studies, Secondary Teaching Option, could be right for you! Environmental Studies provides an overview of how science affects our environment, focusing on interactions between the solid Earth, its water, its air, and its living organisms, and on dynamic, interdependent relationships between these four components.

Students must have a Minor in Secondary Education to obtain teaching licensure. Licensure applications are the responsibility of the student and the Office of Teacher Education Advising and Licensure (TEAL) in the Cato College of Education.
