Construction Management, B.S.C.M.

Program Overview

Construction managers are enjoying increasing demand by employers due to the expansion of construction activity nationwide. Population and business growth will result in the construction of new residences, office buildings, retail outlets, hospitals, schools, restaurants and other structures.

The B.S. in construction management program provides you with a strong academic foundation so you’ll be prepared to apply industry skills to technical and design challenges. You’ll be trained in plan reading, means and methods, cost estimating, project planning and scheduling, and risk. The program is further enhanced by a required summer internship and opportunities for co-op, summer employment and international summer study experiences.

In the capstone senior design project, you’ll apply theory to practicum in actual engineering challenges.

After graduating from this program, you’re equipped to pursue careers in construction management areas such as real estate and land development, infrastructure development and code enforcement, and insurance with industry leaders such as McKenney’s, the N.C. Department of Transportation and Pulte Homes.

As an ABET accredited program, this course of study provides students assurance that it meets the quality standards of the profession.
