Program Overview

Students in the Information Technology concentration will learn about the usability, security, and reliability of IT infrastructures with an emphasis on technical writing and communications skills. Students with an IT concentration will be project managers, product managers, and will manage the resources, documents, and customer interaction in IT projects.

Computer Science, Information Technology Concentration, B.A. at a Glance

The Concentration in Information Technology emphasizes usability, security, and reliability of IT infrastructures, as well as writing and communications skills. This concentration prepares students for a wide variety of jobs or graduate studies. The B.A. in Computer Science program requires a common set of computer science courses, a set of concentration-specific courses, and a group of elective courses in a non-computer science discipline, also satisfied by a second major or a minor. The emphasis in this program is less theoretical/mathematical, and more on the applied side of computing.
