Enhance their academic journey in support of young children and families with a Minor in Child and Family Development. This interdisciplinary program offers a dynamic curriculum designed to deepen your understanding of early childhood education, family systems, and the critical role of early education and care in the development of young children and the healthy function of their families.

Child and Family Development, Minor at a Glance

Students who declare the minor are required to complete six courses. Some of the required courses have prerequisites, so students should declare the Minor in Child and Family Development as early as possible to plan their schedule. Students declaring the minor as sophomores and juniors can usually complete the degree on schedule. Students interested in the minor should begin taking classes as early as possible after declaration.
