Program Overview

UNC Charlotte’s Anthropology Department offers students a comprehensive approach to understanding human biological and cultural commonalities and differences across time and space. Students can take courses in the field science that studies people wherever and whenever they live, while maintaining a separate degree. Students from fields as different as Computer Science, Art History, Biology, Foreign Languages, and Psychology frequently minor in Anthropology.

Anthropology, Minor at a Glance

Anthropology is the holistic study of what it means to be human. Anthropologists study humanity’s evolutionary history, past remains, languages, and modern cultures with an emphasis on gaining an appreciation of the wide diversity of lifeways that exist in the world.
