Anthropology, Applied Anthropology Concentration, B.A.

Program Overview

Anthropology is the holistic study of what it means to be human. Anthropologists study humanity’s evolutionary history, past remains, languages, and modern cultures with an emphasis on gaining an appreciation of the wide diversity of lifeways that exist in the world. UNC Charlotte’s Anthropology Department offers students a comprehensive approach to understanding human biological and cultural commonalities and differences across time and space. With its anthropology degree featuring a concentration in applied anthropology, the Department of Anthropology at UNC Charlotte’s College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences offers students the opportunity learn how to use anthropological research and theories to solve real-world problems for careers in education, health care, non-profit, zoos and museums, and more.
