The ALII certificate prepares graduates to use data to develop reading and writing instruction for all students, but especially for striving readers and English Language Learners. Students can enroll and begin in the Spring or Fall. The program:

The Advanced Literacy Instruction & Intervention Certificate courses include two required courses in the Spring:

Specialized Coursework for Varied Needs: Whether your focus is on early literacy development or adolescent literacy challenges, the ALII program offers specialized coursework that addresses the spectrum of student literacy needs. Enhance your expertise in teaching English learners and develop robust strategies for K-12 writing and literacy assessment.
Designed for Teachers, By Teachers: Recognizing the busy schedules of working educators, the ALII certificate program is offered entirely online. Courses are delivered in the Canvas learning management system with some instructors also using video meetings through platforms like Zoom. This flexibility ensures that teachers can advance their skills without pausing their careers or sacrificing their commitment to their current students.
